Our hotel lies directly on the foot of the Deister mountain, a 12500 ha wide landscape protection area, and the wide fields of the Calenberger Land are only a stone’s throw away. This wonderful nearby recreational area at the gates of Hanover offers you endless possibilities to spend your time like hiking, jogging, biking or field trips, just to name a few. And if you like, it is no problem for us to organize comfortable coach rides for you.
Just 150 m from the hotel you find the Station Egestorf from where you can start your trips to the region around Hanover.
Only two stations farther you are in the city of Barsinghausen where
the main street invites you to make a little shopping tour. Worth
seeing here are also the cloister, the town hall and the “goats’-pond”.
The mining museum and the neighbouring visitors’ mine explain past and
history of Barsinghausen.
In 30 minutes you are in the city of Lower Saxony’s capital Hanover. You should not fail to see the Herrenhausen Gardens, an enchanting baroque park, the New Town Hall with its slope lift and of course the beautiful Old Town with its ornamented facades.
Also in only 30 minutes you are at the Steinhuder Meer, Northern Germany’s biggest inland lake. Make a boat ride there and visit the insular citadel Wilhelmstein. Don’t let the opportunity slip to taste the Steinhude speciality, the smoked eel fresh from the oven.
